Therapy, wherever you are.
I offer therapy online. I am licensed in Iowa and Illinois, and I am expanding to PsyPact, which will allow me to practice in 42 states.
This flips the script on traditional care: no more driving to in-person appointments, no more waiting rooms, no more rushing across town. You get more flexibility — and I can be present with you, wherever you are, for each appointment.
Therapy begins with an initial intake appointment. Unless you are seeking long-term supportive therapy, our work is generally goal-oriented, with a collaborative timeline and clear expectations for treatment.
Transparent session rates.
I operate as a self-pay practice. This means payment is made directly at the time of service, giving you control over your care and keeping your mental health record private.
If you would like to use insurance, I can provide a superbill — a detailed receipt you submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance company before we begin to confirm your out-of-network benefits and reimbursement rate.
- Initial intake appointment$175
- 50-minute therapy session$150
- 30-minute therapy session$75
Why choose to pay directly for therapy.
Paying directly (rather than through insurance) offers several advantages that can meaningfully shape your experience of care.
Greater flexibility in therapist choice
Self-pay lets you select a therapist based on your needs — not insurance network restrictions — leading to a stronger therapeutic alliance.
Avoidance of insurance restrictions
No caps on session numbers, no required diagnoses for coverage, no preauthorization. Treatment is tailored to you.
Enhanced privacy
Your mental health record stays in the therapy room. Nothing is shared with claims staff or reviewers.
More control over treatment pace
You can pause or adjust therapy through life events without needing reauthorization.
Higher quality, personalized care
Therapists not tied to insurance often carry smaller caseloads and have more time for each session.
Predictable, transparent billing
You know the cost of each session upfront — no surprise bills or co-pay confusion.
Freedom from diagnostic requirements
Seek therapy for personal growth or everyday challenges without meeting strict insurance criteria.
Space for specialized or intensive work
Longer-term, intensive, or specialized approaches like EMDR blocks are possible without insurer mandates.
Billing your insurance as an out-of-network provider.
A few notes on billing: my fee is $150 for a 50-minute session. I am not in-network with any insurance provider.
That said, I work with patients who wish to use their insurance by providing a superbill, which can be submitted to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement.
It is important to speak with your insurance provider about out-of-network benefits and confirm your rate of reimbursement prior to our first meeting.
